Nectar Bridge

QuickBooks Online Bookkeeping for Nonprofits

A donation recorded in your donor system still needs to appear correctly in QuickBooks Online. Payroll needs to be accounted for, too. When those records don’t agree, it takes time to answer a basic question: where does the organization stand this month?

Nectar Bridge helps nonprofits keep their books current and work through the accounting questions that arise when donor management and payroll tools are part of the back office. Our nonprofit experience includes work with Mission First Alliance.

Bookkeeping You Can Review Each Month

Nonprofit leaders need financial records they can use throughout the year, not a pile of corrections at year-end. We can help with transaction categorization, bank and credit card reconciliation, and review of balances that don’t look right.

We’ll talk with you about the reports your team uses and the questions those reports need to answer. If the books are behind, we’ll identify the catch-up or cleanup work before setting a regular monthly process.

Donor Management and QuickBooks Online

Your donor management system and QuickBooks Online have different jobs. One helps your team manage donor relationships and gifts; the other needs to reflect the organization’s financial activity accurately.

We can review how donation information reaches QuickBooks Online, including whether your tools connect directly or your team moves information between them. Then we’ll look at how deposits and recorded gifts are checked against each other. The right process depends on the tools you use and the information each one makes available.

If donations are missing, duplicated, or recorded in a way that makes reports hard to use, we’ll help identify where the difference begins before proposing changes.

Payroll Bookkeeping Support

Payroll creates accounting work even when another provider runs it. The amounts recorded in QuickBooks Online need to agree with the payroll records and the withdrawals from your bank account.

Nectar Bridge can help review how payroll activity is recorded and reconcile related accounts as part of an agreed bookkeeping scope. If the problem begins in your payroll provider’s setup or payroll processing, we’ll identify what needs attention and who needs to address it.

A Starting Point That Fits Your Books

We’ll begin with a conversation about your current records, the software your team uses, and the work that needs attention. A nonprofit with current books may need monthly support; one with unreconciled accounts or mismatched donation records may need a separate cleanup project first.

Pricing and scope depend on the condition of the books and the work involved. Tax return preparation, payroll processing, and audit or attest services aren’t included unless a separate agreement specifically addresses them.
